About Amelia
Amelia came to Pilates and yoga through dance. After serious injuries as a teenager, she turned to somatic movement to rebuild her strength and her trust in her body. That experience still shapes how she teaches.
She holds a B.S. in Kinesiology from Indiana University, trained in STOTT Pilates, Katonah Yoga and Vinyasa, and has taught for over ten years. As a professional dancer she has had years of experience cross training to keep her body at its best and prevent injuries.
Her sessions balance good technique with curiosity: breath-led sequences, imagery that makes alignment click, and an approach to form drawn from sacred geometry. Expect to leave stronger, more organized and more aware of how you move.
How it works
Share your goals, any injuries, your preferred format and a few times that suit you.
Amelia looks at how you move and breathe, talks through your history and shapes the session around what she sees.
Clients often book weekly or every other week, so each session can build on the last. The key to longevity is repetition.

Katonah Yoga is a Hatha-based practice that uses geometry, metaphor and props to understand alignment. Poses are treated as shapes you organize your body within, which makes it practical for anyone who wants to understand how they are put together.
Yes. Many clients combine mat Pilates for core strength and control with Katonah Yoga or restorative work for alignment and mobility. Tell Amelia what you are after and she will shape the session around it.
